With the launch of the new Vice Lipsticks from Urban Decay, I thought I would treat myself to yet another new lipstick and to see for myself whether the products live up to their hype. I visited my local Debenhams store and went straight to swatching pretty much all […]
For my 20th birthday I was fortunate enough to receive the incredible Ulta limited edition Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded eyeshadow palette from two of my amazing best friends! I am so excited to add this to my eyeshadow collection as you all know by […]
As part of my many New Year’s Resolutions, I decided that I would focus more on my fitness and rather than constantly criticising myself for the numbers on the scales, I’d teach myself to focus on my happiness. I know that this isn’t going to be the easiest journey and in a way, I don’t want it to be easy, nothing easy is worth doing.
I’ve been putting off joining the gym for months, mainly due to a lack of self-confidence, but the only way I’m going to change this is if I suck it up and get on with it. I’m never going to make any progress without a little sacrifice, i.e. money. Joining the gym is never going to be cheap, but it’s up to you the price you pay for what you get out of it. It’s the dedication to it that matters the most as well as how comfortable you feel in your surroundings. I personally prefer a smaller gym, somewhere quieter and a little off the beaten-track.
Frankly, I have no idea where to start when it comes to the gym and although it’s extremely daunting, I’ve found it extremely helpful to watch YouTube videos to help me on my way. My favourites are Carly Rowena, Megan Grubb as well as Em Sheldon (and many more). Watching videos certainly helps when you want to learn new exercises, trying to improve your form or just when you’re keen to get started.
So here it is, the beginning of something new, something I’ve been putting off for months and something I just need to get stuck in to. I’ve got a heck of a lot to learn, and I’m a long way off my personal goals. But to be perfectly honest, I’m happy just to enjoy the journey.

I recently browsed kyliecosmetics.com and decided to make a (not so little) splurge! And in the end I chose four Matte Singles as I’m not a huge fan of using lip liner and so didn’t really see the point in buying something I knew I wouldn’t use. I think the addition of being able to buy the products as singles is brilliant, it allows for those of us who, like me, don’t use lip liner and just want to try the lipstick OR if you want to make a repurchase of one of your favourite shades. I purchased these lipsticks on the 31st October (therefore qualifying for a free Metal Matte Lipstick in the shade KYMAJESTY) and I also got free shipping… yay! They didn’t take too long to arrive into the UK, probably around the 10 days mark but I’m sure it differs depending on when and what you order.
First of all I love the packaging, I think Kylie has designed some beautiful and signature products that almost everyone in the beauty community now easily recognises. The box the products come in was recently re-packaged as I think there was a problem with it being easily identified and possibly experienced some theft issues. The inside of the box was well padded with foam and comes with a little message from Kylie herself thanking you for purchasing from her.
Firstly, I chose the shade KOKO K, a pale pink shade which I utterly adore. It is a stunning soft pink that I was actually initially worried about being a bit too pink for my skin tone but I’m totally obsessed with it! I also went for CANDY K, which is another beautiful soft, pinky nude that I convinced myself I had to have because it was one of the first shades launched and is just absolutely gorgeous. Next up is DOLCE K, which is a deep beige nude shade and is just a beautiful shade which I shall most likely pair with a golden smokey eye. I ventured into the world of the ‘pink pinks’ and picked out POSIE K, a berry toned pink, and I’m glad I did because I can see myself getting a lot of use out of this shade. Finally, as a Halloween special, I also received the Matte Metal Lipstick in the shade KYMAJESTY, which is a blue-toned black, metallic lipstick with silvery, blue pieces of glitter in. I have absolutely NO idea when or if I’ll ever wear this out in public (apart from next Halloween perhaps?!).
Now onto the all important bit – the formula! I was actually really surprised by how lightweight the formula is, it almost feels a little runny. The product applies really evenly and dries to a beautiful matte finish really quickly. I’m super impressed with the pigmentation and the longevity of the products, and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of use out of (almost) each shade.
A lot of people have been ‘put off’ by the cost of the products considering the added shipping and customs fees. It is definitely something to consider before making an order and be sure to check out the Royal Mail link for more information.

On a recent trip to my local Superdrug I wandered past the ever-so-tempting Bourjois counter and noticed a few new items on the stand. The Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in the shade 52 Vanille was one of my favourite drugstore/high-street foundations and after it ran out a while back I never got round to repurchasing another. Bourjois have now released a new and improved Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Foundation with up to 16 hour wear, boasting a radiant complexion and with a combination of vitamins C, E and B5. And with £2 off and 3 for 2, why not give it a go?!
I also, seeing as it there was 3 for 2 on offer, decided to give the Healthy Mix Concealer in the shade Light 01 a try. Like it’s foundation counterpart, the concealer contains ‘a unique blend of vitamins that erases imperfections and signs of fatigue’. I’ve been on the look out for a more affordable concealer, as opposed to using my favourite Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer which is £19, this concealer is just £7.99 and is included within the 3 for 2 offer.
Finally, to complete the set I repurchased the Healthy Balance Unifying Powder in the shade 52 Vanille for £8.99, which claims to provide 10 hours matte finish and a natural, healthy glow. I hit pan on my old compact a few weeks ago and kept meaning to pick another one of these up when I found the chance, so seeing as I was already getting the foundation and concealer, I thought I’d pick up another knowing that I would get quite a lot of use out of it. I wouldn’t say it provides a 10 hour matte finish though, as for me, my skin tends to get a bit oily throughout the day and so I find it is best to carry it with me for any touch-ups I might need. The compact is a perfect handbag size and comes with a big mirror inside, ideal for travelling around with me both to work and to university.
