REVIEW: Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded Eyeshadow Palette

For my 20th birthday I was fortunate enough to receive the incredible Ulta limited edition Urban Decay XX Vice Ltd Reloaded eyeshadow palette from two of my amazing best friends!  I am so excited to add this to my eyeshadow collection as you all know by now that I’m a huge lover of Urban Decay eyeshadows and just their products in general.  The palette is designed to feature some throwback shades from the last 20 years of Urban Decay (probably hence the XX) and it is just beautiful.

The packaging of the palette is a gorgeous matte black, which unfortunately shows all of my grubby fingerprints and initial minor scratches.  But it does feature a huge mirror which is perfect for travelling and for using on a dressing table as it holds firmly in place when opened with just a push of a button.  The palette also comes with a double-ended brush which is very useful and a heck of a lot better than the foam applicators that are found in a lot of eyeshadow palettes.  There is a wide range of eyeshadows within the palette, suiting any eye colour and skin tone perfectly.

I have personally fallen quickly in love with some of the eyeshadows, notably Smog which is a bronzey, shimmery eyeshadow that I think perfectly compliments my blue eyes.  Secondly, I am loving the shade Suspend as a transitiony, crease colour but I have even used it on its own as a lid shade with lashings of mascara to create a subtle and effortless smokey eye.  Admittedly, there are a few colours within the palette that I haven’t yet braved, the shades Mildew and Acid Rain, which are green shadows seem daunting.  Mainly fearing resembling Fiona from Shrek… not something I’m particularly going for.  A few of the others shades I am getting a lot of use from are the shades Anonymous and Roadstripe.  Anonymous is a light matte peach toned nude shade that is a perfect wash of colour over the eyelids and works well as a transition colour as well.  Roadstripe is a beautiful, slightly shimmery, white shade that works beautifully as a inner corner and under-brow highlight.

Overall, I am definitely impressed with this eyeshadow palette and I am eternally indebted to my friends for getting me this!  I can’t wait to get more use out of this palette and maybe even venture into the more adventurous shades… but we’ll have to see about that.
